Owens to Start Sixth in ARCA RE/MAX 250
Talladega, AL (April 23, 2009) - Alli Owens and the ElectrifyingCareers.com team reminded everyone why they're highly regarded for their restrictor plate program today at Talladega Superspeedway.
The afternoon started out with a bang for the No. 19 team. The ElectrifyingCareers.com car made eight mock qualifying runs, culminating with a lap time of 51.205 seconds around the 2.66 mile tri-oval. Owens' speed of 197.013 was the fastest of the 41 competitors.
Owens followed up the practice session with a sixth place qualifying run. Her average speed of 186.296 mile per hour (51.402 seconds) secured her spot on the outside of row three. The effort marked Owens' second top-10 start in three attempts and her second consecutive top-10 start at a superspeedway.
"The ElectrifyingCareers.com car was awesome today, "said Owens. "The car handled great and barely had any drag. It just cut through the air. I knew it was going to be a great day as soon as I hit the track. I'm really excited about our chances tomorrow. I'll have the leaders in sight when we start the race and I'm not going to let them get away." |
