Alli Owens Practice/Qualifying Report

(July 31, 2009) - Alli Owens wrapped up today's practice session for the Pennsylvania 200  at Pocono Raceway in eighth-place.  Owens's fastest lap around the 2.5 mile oval was 55.454 seconds (162.297 mph), only 1.155 seconds slower than leader Parker Kligerman.   

Unfortunately, rain showers covered the Long Pond, PA area and prevented the ARCA RE/MAX Series from qualifying. The starting lineup will be set according to owner point standings, which places the ElectrifyingCareers.com Toyota 25th  among the 41 cars entered in the race.

"We had a great practice session today," said Owens. "The ElectrifyingCareers.com car is fast through each turn. It has great balance and handles well. My team made great adjustments that really improved the handling. 

"I was looking forward to qualifying.  I know I could have backed up the lap we ran in practice.  We would have started in the top-10 for sure.  Unfortunately the rain didn't cooperate.  That's OK. As good as our car is, I know we can drive through the field. It rained last time we were here and we scored a top-10.  I'll go for a repeat performance tomorrow."
